We are finally leaving the Black Hills of South Dakota and heading through the Badlands. The terrain changed almost instantly from lush green fields to a hilly region filled with a forest of rock spires. It’s truly a dichotomy. We’re back to cycling an average of 120 miles/day and it actually feels good. We ended the day in Wall, SD (the precursor to Walmart) in a great little cabin Diane found. In the “Lobby”, you could buy anything from knives, Indian art, guns, and lots of fireworks. I’m talking rows and rows of everything from bottle rockets to full on pyro kits. It was a little Bob’s candy store. I bought some bottle rockets and “The Black Mambo” which has 24 “Fiery balls with report.” It’s not Disneyland, but the 4th should be a little more fun than we thought it would be.
