We left our B&B in Port Dover and headed east toward Fort Erie and Niagara Falls. We enjoyed 100+ miles with no traffic, many of them on the Freedom bike trail. This joined with the northbound Niagara trail along the Niagara River. From miles away, you could see the plume of mist rising into the sky from the falls. Diane got into Niagara Falls first and secured us a great room at the Falls View Marriott. It had a grand picture window overlooking the falls. The only drawback is that the windows did not open, so you could not hear a thing. On my way into town, I passed by Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. We have not been to one since last summer in San Diego. I know where we’re eating tonight. If you have never see the Falls, they are simply amazing. Imagine an enormous lake just falling into the grand canyon. Or for some, the edge of the world…if it was flat. Any way, they light up the falls at night and we were treated with a fireworks show.
