Today we headed toward the U.P.(upper peninsula) of Michigan. Although the weather is still incredibly hot and humid, we made good time due to a lovely tailwind. We just heard on the news that their are record high temps along the northeast and midwest. Lucky us! We had a couple of firsts today. I got stung by a bee when it got into my helmet (now I know whats it’s like to have a bee in the bonnet) and Diane got her first flat that she had to fix. After her first attempt failed, I was the good domestic and just gave her my rear wheel. We also cycled into the eastern time zone today, so we were seriously stressing to find food. Hence, the Dreamland Motel and Cafe in Blaney Park, MI. After a quick meal, we started to catch up on the website.
