Rolling out very late today as Diane had to prepare and file her Mammoth TOT taxes (grrrr..20 days earlier than everyone else!)
We stopped in McCall for breakfast at the Pancake House and a Growler from McCall brewery. We followed the Payette River towards Lowman, a good halfway point to Ketchum, ID. Another beautiful ride with no traffic as we went south on Rte 55 then east on Rte 21, Wildlife Canyon. What a special place. Dramatic canyons, all white water, and no traffic for 33 miles. Did not finish this ride until 8:40 p.m. But we were rewarded with a night of no cell service or internet (good) and a tv with 1 channel. Unfortunately, it was on “Cops” of Idaho or some such thing. Where are the Grey’s Anatomy reruns when you need them?

Definitely to best place to stay in New Meadows. The first beer is on them.
-
After working all morning on TOT Taxes, we are finally off.
-
Passing Payette Lake in McCall where we’ll have breakfast at the Pancake House and a Growler at McCall Brewery.
-
Come on…how’s about a sweaty hug.
-
Kiss me, Baby!
-
Along the Payette River. Wildlife Canyon was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The entire river was white water, probably all class 3-5.
-
A grassy airfield. Note the oversized tires for landing.
-
The Payette from above. Wildlife Canyon was 33 solid miles of this!
-
Look, there’s a Bull Trout.

Finishing a long ride past Lowman to our “Haven” where we found the locals partying after their annual Ducky Race. Inflatable kayaks down class 4-5 rapids. No one stayed upright. Apparently, only guides are qualified to do it.
We stayed at the Haven Hot Springs Inn and got there just as their restaurant was closing. They were nice enough to fix us two ribeye steaks and we soaked in our private hot spring.
