The wind was howling as soon as we awoke. Another day of steady 20+ mph headwinds with 35 mph gusts. Yippee! For those who don’t cycle, riding on a flat road at 15 mph with a 15 mph headwind equates to going up a 6% grade. The difference is that there is no downhill as your reward. Anyway, Diane was seriously concerned that it was windy enough to blow her off the road. I assured her that her thunder thighs would likely act as a keel… (Hee Hah, THAT was for the Bobcats!) We rode to Fort Bragg, then backtracked 9 miles to the Brewery Gulch Inn. Diane had spotted it on our way. Another jacuzzi tub, excellent meal, and full breakfast with homemade cinnamon rolls was all included! Never did find the brewery. Our stay was simply fantastic.
